Our building is for sale. Help Gg's House find a forever home — see what we're raising

What’s coming

The building is open. It isn’t finished.

Pacific Avenue gave us more than a bigger supply room. Over the coming months it becomes somewhere you can stay a while — find work, learn something, sit down with people.

Now open

Second Chance Treasures

A small boutique-style secondhand shop where every purchase funds Gg’s House — and where people build real retail experience: customer service, money handling, working a shift.

Wed & Thu, 10am–1pm, plus Mon & Tue as needed. Use the “B” door and ask a volunteer.

Building now

The DayRoom

A welcoming hub with computers for job searches, access to vital resources, games, volunteer sign-ups and somewhere warm to actually be.

Building now

Resource Station

One place to find out who does what — housing, benefits, healthcare, recovery, legal aid — instead of being sent round the county.

Coming

Crafts & Workshops

Hands-on activities and skill-building sessions for all ages, building creativity and connection. Open to anyone, not just people using the pantry.

Needs a bigger building

Warming & cooling centre

Somewhere for people to go in a cold snap or a heat wave. This one depends on the forever home.

Needs a bigger building

Mentoring & classes

Proper space to sit with people over weeks rather than minutes. Also waiting on the forever home.

Second Chance Treasures

A shop that pays for the pantry

The shop exists for two reasons. It gives Gg’s House a source of income that isn’t a donation — the revenue fills the gaps in our food and supply inventory. And it gives people who need work history somewhere to build it.

Customer service, basic money-handling, retail experience: the things a CV needs and a hard few years takes away.

Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 10am–1pm. Monday and Tuesday open as needed, 10am–1pm. Closed Friday. Hours are subject to change — ring ahead if you’re making a trip.

The work in progress

Mostly volunteers, ladders and donated flooring

None of this was done by a contractor. It was done on weekends by people who wanted somewhere better for their neighbours to walk into.

One catch

All of this is being built in a building that’s for sale.

Which is why the forever home campaign matters more than any of it.
